It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ambassador (R) Dato’ M. Redzuan Kushairi, Senior Advisor of Asia-Europe Institute (AEI), University of Malaya. All of us at AEI would like to offer our sincere condolences to his family.
Dato' M. Redzuan Kushairi was an avid supporter of our institution, and has significantly contributed to the improvement of the institute itself. He very recently served as the moderator during the Jean Monnet Ambassador Lecture Series featuring the Ambassador of France to Malaysia. His passing is indeed a great loss to all of us.
We will miss you, Dato'. May Allah reward you for all your good deeds and grant you the highest of ranks in Jannah.

PETALING JAYA (22 Feb 2019): Former ambassador and G25 member Redzuan Kushairi died today at the age of 69.
FMT learnt that Redzuan, who is the Dato Shah Bandar and a member of the Perak Royal Council, passed away this afternoon after suffering a heart attack.
Redzuan, the former Malaysian ambassador to Uzbekistan, graduated in International Relations and History from Universiti Malaya before furthering his studies at Moscow State University in Russia.
From 1972 to 1996, he served in the Malaysian diplomatic corps.
Rezduan also served as deputy permanent representative at the Malaysian Mission to the United Nations, deputy high commissioner in the UK, first secretary/head of chancery in Washington DC, and second secretary in Moscow.
He worked as the special assistant to former foreign ministers, the late Ghazali Shafie and Tengku Ahmad Rithauddeen.
