WALK FOR UNITY 2018

Walk for Unity 2018 is a continuation from the previous Walk for Unity which was carried out in 2017. The first Walk for Unity was held at University of Malaya with the purpose to encourage intercultural communication between school students and university students, and to strengthen the bonds between young Malaysians while enjoying the beautiful scenery and motivating the student participants to succeed in their education. Due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback received from the first Walk for Unity, a continuation of the programme was organized with a bigger target participants and broader objectives was organized in its second year.

As the organizers aim to emphasize the element of inclusion in the programme, the event opened to the general public and also was a disabled persons friendly in line with the objectives of the management in further strengthening the bonds and unity between the participants. The Walk for Unity had started at 8.00am and during the walk, the participants were given the oppurtunity to choose between two routes; 3KM and 5KM, either way where they preferred.

Apart from walking, following the event, lucky participants were given exciting prizes that were sponsored in lucky draw session. The team from Faculty of Languages and Linguistics that potrayed their own creativity on peace and unity during the walk by displaying the harmonious peace and brotherhood unification between them, also won vouchers from our sponsors.

Alhamdullilah, overall, The Walk for Unity 2018 was a success.
